SCIATICA PAIN
Sciatica is a spine condition that affects the sciatic nerve. The sciatic nerve extends from the lower (lumbar) part of the spine and branches off down the back of each leg. When the sciatic nerve becomes pinched or damaged, the result can be severe pain.
Although the pain associated with sciatica can be severe, most cases resolve with non-operative treatments in a few weeks. People who have severe sciatica that’s associated with significant leg weakness or bowel or bladder changes might be candidates for surgery.
